Copyright - Testimonial on Web Site Theft
Someone on the Internet downloaded my website and displayed it on
their website as being their own. He copied everything including the html, screen shots, java, java script, cascading style sheets and navigation. I tried to get the person to take my material down without
making any headway. Finally, I called the Law Office of David M. Dingeman for legal counsel on what I could do. He
contacted this person and helped educate the offender as to what copyright laws actually were. There are so many myths and assumptions about copyrights and most people are completely wrong in their beliefs.
The offender was somewhat reluctant to take my material down. Mr Dingeman took legal steps to the next level by contacting the Internet Server Provider (ISP) that hosted the offender's website. He pointed
out to them, per their own displayed 'Hosting Guidelines and User License Agreement', that they were also in violation of U.S. and international copyright laws by hosting someone that was displaying stolen material.
He took them on a tour of my website and the offender's website pointing out exactly what the offender had done. The ISP closed the offender's website down.
Mr Dingeman's law office will be used by me in the
future for any legal counsel I need concerning the Internet. He worked to find a fast solution for me and kept me informed as to what was going on the whole time. I wholeheartedly endorse the Law Office of David M.
Dingeman.
